Hey,

just wondering your methods. Do you make three tracks and pull around all the different hits youve split? I'd actually be intersted to see how modulr does it.

I may be buying dr008 very very soon, i cant wait :)

Well lemme know your ideas and thoughts

one track would do just fine also.. i use more only when i want to split the hits between diff processing treatments.

ron,

How can you afford DR008? A couple of days ago, you mentioned that you couldn't afford $30 to buy an SBLive card and get Vienna soundfont creator with it.

Just curious.

Along the lines of this thread, search for the supatrigga plugin for an automated beat slicer that works o.k.

no i have a sblive but I took it out and gave it to my dad. I don't want to play with vienna and card soundbanks. Not to mention creative's crappy drivers.

I use (sliced) breaks exclusively, so it is neccessary not to have two channels for one layer.
First I slice the loop by CTRL+drag and trim start and end points, then I drag around the different one-shots.
Works great for me, easier and more intuitive than a sampler :)

you drag them around or do you duplicate and drag?

i hope t2 will have grouping ;)

BTW: just got dr008, its MIIINE!!!

as cbit mentioned.. if it's going to different processors... I have the splits on seperate tracks. Beyond that, I slip the edits... It's nice that when you slip in Tracktion because the audio can remained locked to the snap.. so I just shift stuff around by dragging that little square box.. until I get something interesting. Beyond that I manually layer ghost notes, apply fades.. and make subtle changes in the pitch to try to give it a little life. Basically just shift lots of stuff around til it sounds right...
