Any way to filter MIDI notes?

I'm using Tracktion with a VST filter (dfx Buffer Override). I want to control the plugin via MIDI CC (Buffer Override is designed for this). The problem is that buffer override can also be controlled via MIDI notes, so every time the instrument (Emulator X) receives it's notes, so does buffer override. I don't want that to happen. Is there any way to do this?

You could try setting the track that the Buffer Override is on to a different MIDI channel from the Emu-X, and filtering that channel out on the Emu-X tracks. For example, my Nova IIX is 6 voice multitimbral, so I'd set the BO track to MIDI channel 7/8/9/whatever and disable MIDI channel 7/8/9/* in all other tracks the Nova was outputting to.

Set up your instrument on one track, and route it to a second. Then set up buffer override on the second track, and record your cc twiddles to that one..

I second that- much more elegant than my clunky Frankenstein's monster of a solution

Good man! ;)

As it happens, the sig nearly got changed to the "Who gave you Britney Spears? ... The white man!" line from The Hebrew Hammer[1] a few days ago. I just forgot to update it. :)

[1] a way under-rated film. :x

The Hebrew Hammer? Unheard of in the UK: sounds like a film Jewdriver* would do the soundtrack for :)

Some of the cultural references wouldn't travel I suspect. Hell, a few years ago I doubt I'd have understood much of it (I really *am* turning into an American ). Either way, as probably the world's first jewsploitation movie it deserves respect. :)

It seems I missed the chance to see Hebrew Hammer on Comedy Central a couple of weeks ago. It looked good from the commercial. I guess I must have been out of the house or something at the time. :(

Oh well, they show reruns all the time, so I'm sure I'll see it sometime.
