all this hype about tracktion 2 is wonderful i cant wait till it drops.
however i have one full album recorded in T1 and started on another. is T1 going to be backwards compatable with T2? i really cant afford to loose any of this data 2 of my songs from my first album are getting a release and it would be a pain in the dick to have to convert them if i ever needed them again for remastering purposes.

I'd be very surprised indeed if T1 edits didn't open in T2.

The blind faithers? Wake up.
Publicity? What publicity? It's just a forum! We are not the universe!!
On Topic-- without actually 'knowing', it would be a complete surprise if T2 were not backwardly compatible. I can't think of any of the saved 'information' in a T1 edit that would be difficult to import into a new T2 edit.
I say 'fear not'.

Dammit, that's the next feature we were going to anounce...Backwards Compatibility Mode.
Joking aside, yeah, T2 will open your old edits, no problem.

Wait, isn't the ability to open T1 projects in T2 just plain "compatibility" (or "forward compatibility")?
Isn't "backward compatibility" the ability to open T2 projects in T1?

No, backward compatibility means it's compatible with previous versions. I agree that the term "backward" might be a bit redundant, but when people use the word "compatibility" on its own, they're often talking about different products that can open each others' works.
For example, Tracktion edits are NOT compatible with Cubase.

I asked them to add Cubase compatibility a dozen times and I got ignored! They never listen to the users!
