Hello,
I am newbie here, sorry if I missed already the answer for my question.
I want to ask how to play&record a module multitimbrally (from my MIDI-layer-split keyboard) in Tracktion.
1. When I put my multitimbral sampler to several Traction tracks and then just tell each track to use different MIDI IN rewire channel, I'm still not able to play simultainously these two tracks because one MIDI device can be assigned to one track only.
2. When I try chain+ndc combination this works only for separate instruments but I want to play several channels of one multitimbral instrument. Moreover this solution is good for realtime playing but not for recording because MIDI channels in recording are merged(ignored)
From my observation it seems to me that most convenient (the only?) solution could be MIDI device split for several tracks - this is because each MIDI track cannot have set MIDI channel to "all", rather one channel has to be specified. Is it possible to do so?
Thanks,
Best regards

it isn;t easy to do at all and has been requested numerous time.
If you are using PC you can set up a workaround by using something like MIDI Yoke which can, if memory serves, create 16 virtual MIDI inputs mapped to one input's channels.
There are also hacky things you can do in rack filters, but it is a lot of messing around.
sorry I can't offer anything better here...
