Poor english language.

I've a P4 (3 ghz, 512 Mo) and on Tracktion with some songs (12 tracks only), i've problems with my cpu (overload). I use Sfz (sf2 player, but the others Sf2 players are not so good).
Do you think my computer is too "small" ?!
I've tried install Sfz on rack, but the problem is same.
What computer do you have ?
2
I've installed cmx844 on racks to use a "real" mixer (no other exist and Tfmixer no has send/return, and other things). But with cmx844, if i use the equalisation, the CPU is red and... stop the E-to-E.
Users of cmx844 have you this problem ?
I've no found other mixer who have a gui of a real mixer, and you ?

We need information on your soundcard, the drivers you're using, and your latency settings, as well as your operating system.
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

Soundcard : MS64pro guillemot
OS : XP
Drivers : all the lasts !
Latency : I'm using Asio 4 for best latency, but I prefer Directsound for Cpu work.
Clothes : the best
Boots : where are my boots ?
motorcycle : nobody wants to let me try a motocycle.

If you use lots of large soundfonts, it might be worth buying some more RAM..?

Large soundfonts may also impact CPU performance, though it IS primarily a RAM thing. If you use DFD to free up RAM, you are putting more load on the CPU, for sure.
Every time I see "Pentium 4" and "CPU load" in the same post, I automatically cry "denormalization problem" so that's worth looking into as well. I don't recall hearing that sfz denormals, though-- it might be the cmx844? Whatever that is... never heard of it! Time to investigate.
