So, are you going to buy a Mackie mixer/control surface?

Just wondering how many are looking to Mackie for the whole bundle. Since I just mess about as a hobby, I'll just stick with the knobs on my Oxygen8. It would be nice though.

Already got a little Mackie mixer..
Need a bigger studio before I think about a control surface though.

I'd prefer the Tascam US-2400

Dunno. Think he's stuck in there.
(Ooops, that'll prompt a call to chat)

I don't have anything by way of control surface currently, bar my proph, so I could easily be tempted. I dunno about my wife though.

I'd consider the control surface.. don't need a mixer as my Delta 44 has plenty of inputs, but the knobs and sliders on my PCR-80 are pretty cheap feeling and there aren't enough of them!
We'll see how finances go this year, though.

i'd LOVE one!
but i guess i've got enough shizz for now. UC-16 isn't exactly top of the range and doesn't feel expensive or anything, but 16 knobs is really more than enough for most tasks. it's a shame i only have one fader on my keyboard tho, some more of those would come in handy!
i'd rather like a transport thing tho.. maybe i'll just build one and make it part of my desk...

I have a Yamaha keyboard (PSR 2100, which is on the semi-pro end of the auto-accompaniment). I use it mostly for teaching, and its not set up with my computer. But I do use it for some audio recording and as a MIDI keybaord input. I'm guessing that in T2 I will therefore be able to map different knobs/buttons like the mod wheel or pitch bend to specific MIDI tasks...correct me if I've misunderstood!
Because this is not with my computer setup I have to take my laptop into my teaching room... so I would quite like a smaller MIDI controller to go with my main computer setup. Definitely something with sloders I can assign to mixing
. Possibly a Mackie one, but I'm not yet sold. Have been considering everything from an Edirol inexpensive job right the way through to the new Acces Virus T1 Polar
. We'll have to see what the budget (i.e. the wife) allows

Ah yes, the wife. I've got one of those myself.
I'm guessing consumer keyboards' controls wouldn't be mappable, but maybe I'm wrong. It just doesn't seem like the way they are set up, except maybe for program change commands.
I bought a house recently with a nice but very small studio space, and switched out my old SQ80 synth I was using as a controller for a Creative Prodikeys (in combination with my Oxygen8) and this seems to work very well for me. I don't have a lot of desk space, but if anyone knows of a very small, inexpensive control surface, I'd be interested to check it out.
