Anyone know of an MFX - VST wrapper?

Does anyone know of an MFX-VST wrapper? Specifically to use Slicy Drummer and Fill-in Drummer from Musiclab in Tracktion? They come as MFX plugins, and it seems nothing except Sonar supports that format. Cubase does through a wrapper Steinberg wrote, which is a tiny piece of code if I remember rightly, only about 40k or something.

Does anyone know of an equivalent wrapper to turn them into a VST? They are brilliant plugins for creating drums, but currently unusable unless I try them in a Sonar demo or similar.

Or do any of you clever programming types fancy writing one? Go on, you can use Juce and everything if you like :)

And yes, I know you can use them in DR-008, but that means buying that too, and I'd like to trigger drums from other sources.

Cheers

chico.co.uk,

Don't give up, we are working on a VSTi version of Drum Tools combining Slicy and Fill-in Drummers in one powerful tool supporting any VST host.

When it is out the Slicy/Fill-in owners can get the upgrade.

Sergey,
I use Slicey and Fill-In every day, and love it. And I love the DR-008, so thanks for the bit of kit. And I also use Real Guitar all the time.

Will the "upgrade" be free for current users? Even though I do ALL my drums in DR-008, there may be a time where I could use a VSTi version.

Very :o 8) :!:

And :-o because I just last night read a review of Slicy in an old CM, which mentioned the Steinberg wrapper--I was thinking of posting this same question today!

But I have and love Slicy, Fill-in and DR008. Would very much like to use S and F with other things...so GOOD NEWS!

NUTS! I just remembered I lost all info--including e-mails--regarding my purchase of Slicy and Fill-in. Sergey, is there any info I can send you that would allow your people to dig up and authenticate my purchase?

If I remember correctly it won't be a free upgrade but it will be reduced. The VSTi is going to be an imporved version of Slicy/Fillin I believe so it's not going to be "free" to exicting users.

Currently I use Slicy via a Sonar Demo then Midi Yoke into Tracktion. For some reason the timing seems to drift though, but onlt when I do this with Tracktion.
I don't have the same isues when I pipe it into eXT or Reason. :?

The upgrade will not be free, but of course reduced for current users.

Your email address, and SNs of Slicy/Fill-in will allow you to authenticate your purchase (click on plug-in logo to open the license infor window with your SN).

Sergey,

I appreciate the reply, but you said in April 2003 that you were working on a VST version of Drum Tools. I've sort of given up hope of it surfacing, so I'm trying to find a workaround. I really really really like the product (for anyone who's not tried it, it makes creating "real" sounding humanised drums a lot more fun than anything else), but the development cycle is just too slow. I can't use it in Tracktion, and I want to.

If the vst version is released, I'll buy it first day it's out.

Why would someone buy Slicy, AND DR-008 THEN pay extra to be able to use Slicy without DR-008 ?

timmyo,

New Drum Tools 3 (the name may be changed) is much more powerful than SlicyDrummer+Fill-in Drummer combo both as MFXs or DD modules within DR-008.

Here are some features in advance:

- hosts any VSTi, DXi, DSL sampler/synth
- MIDI output
- runs as a standalone or VSTi/DXi
- create 1-8 measure Drum Performances, including drum loops with intros, fills, breaks, endings, solos, etc..at a mouse click (using Slicy/Fill-in windows and 8-measure internal track)
- save/load Drum Performances as Styles within 12-piece Style sets
- trigger Styles with 12 chromaric notes of any octave from sequencer MIDI track or live from MIDI keyboard/computer keyboard
- synch with host sequencer
- export Standard MIDI file of the Performance (Style) or drag'n'drop it to host sequencer or directly to Windows
- export or d'n'd wave file of the Performance (Style) to host sequencer or to Windows

and much more...

Is there any way of getting 3/4 time patterns added? Or is that something that's not easy to do. If that's the case, I'd for sure be on board. Or if it's just not too much, as I have alot to buy this year(starting with T2). Thanks.
