Hi,
I've been using FinalMix (I use a mac) for a few days now and I bumped into something weird.
With FinalMix inserted in the Master section, if I hit 'Home' (actually I don't have 'Home' on iBook, so I modified this to be the 'H' key) to place the cursor at the beginning of an edit or a clip and then hit play, I often get a short snap at the start of playback. If FinalMix is inserted into a clip (and not in the master section), starting playback at the beginning of the clip makes again this snapping sound, but not starting from the beginning of the edit.
This happens only with FinalMix, maybe 60-70% of the time.
Then another thing is that when recalling an Edit, FinalMix remembers the settings but not the name of the preset (I guess this has been covered allready).

Ayup. At least your factory settings load up properly to begin with.ricupad wrote:Then another thing is that when recalling an Edit, FinalMix remembers the settings but not the name of the preset (I guess this has been covered allready).
Regarding the snap-- have you tried this with other CPU-intensive plug-ins? FinalMix isn't the heaviest of all plug-ins, but it's not super-lightweight either. Try it with a comparable plug.

Thanks for the tip! I tried Ambience, and something similar happened: not a snapping sound, but if I stopped playback in the middle of clip, then resumed playback from the beginning (with no audio there), I would get a short burst of reverb!! If the last bit played was silent, then resuming playback was fine. ILunch Money wrote:Ayup. tested this again with FinalMix and the same applies: if I stop playback in the middle of a clip, I get the snap when resuming playback, stopping in a silent place doesn't cause the snap when I hit play again. I also tried this with Tracktion's own reverb with the same results, so it's probably not related to how much cpu the filter uses. Annoying.
Anyway, time to go sleep now zzz....

Thanks, that's what I started to think when I couldn't get sleep last night. I tried it now and it worked! What's the explanation? With e-to-e off the sound of the filter gets cut off when you stop playback, but why does the cut-off bit sound when you hit play again? Oh well, it's a minor thing anyway...platinumears wrote:Try turning End to End on..
