T2 worries

Its probably just me but it seems that a lot of plugins are being bundled with T2 just to more than double the price of the software ,The strategy of business consultants if ever i saw it(Yes i have had many many meetings with business consultants) ,To raise the price of T2 like this brings it into line with Louds other (IMO overpriced) products so that the uninformed buyer purchases ,By uninformed i mean the type of customer that looks for a product with the primaray goal that it fits their budget (Believe me the world is full of people who think if you pay more you are getting a better product) ,Now dont get me wrong im not trying to get negative on T2 but it feels to me like a distinct lack of trust in T from Loud ,Now somebody is probably going to be saying "Yeah but all the other sequencers come with plugins" So does T 1.6 and only one isn't made by RM and personally i think its a CPU hogging heap ,I think a show of faith in T2 would be most welcome here from Loud and i would hope that the mentioned special upgrade for T owners would be a DL version with or without these plugs and a reduction if you dont want them ,We will have to wait to see if any of these plugs are full or just bloatware to try and make you purchase a third party plugin ,Anyway start the fires and flame away i dont post here regularly enough to be able to say this without someone losin it ,And on that last point because i dont post here very often can someone actually tell me why Ron gets so much crapolla ?
Thanx

I'm not going to flame you, but I've spent the last half hour playing with RMIV, and it's a very nice piece of kit. Very intuitive, and yet looks to have a bit of grunt behind it under the hood. I think it fits the tracktion modus operandi rather nicely. I'm getting quite excited about that, especially if it comes with the kits. If so, that's 1.2 gig of sounds ... hardly a ripoff. Of course, if you already have, or don't want a drum machine, that's maybe not gonna set your world on fire
I can see where you're coming from, mind. But on a point of fact, T1 ships with over a dozen plugs from MDA as it is, not just 1 third party plug ...
I can see your point, but I kind of DO want the additional plugs personally

I was sort of wondering if Karbon's version of Stepchild might have made the bundle? Mod's original is, of course, great, but not cross platform, and Karbon went all quiet about his C++ version round about the time the post went out looking for plugs to bundle with T2. Or maybe that was my paranoid imagination ...

just to go off on a tangent for a minute you know punctuation and line breaks and stuff where actually invented for a reason i think it makes it easier to read or something dunno just something someone told me once i dont bothermyselfinfactithinkillstopbotheringwiththespacebaraswelllifestooshortfuckit..
As far as I'm concerned, T1 was underpriced at $80, and it could be argued that it should originally have sold with a significantly higher price tag in order not to be overlooked as a toy.
I'm glad it wasn't of course, but check the recent dither thread for an ignorant comment from someone who should know better along the lines of "who would expect perfect mixes from a $80 app?"
So basically, I already feel like I've got a bargain coming cos I don't have to pay the full price, and the plugs are a bonus.. how big remains to be seen till I've tried them, but I'm sure I can find a use for some of it.
Final Mix Rocks (IMO)
I don't know why you say Mackie gear is overpriced.. if so how come it sells so well? I've got a mixer and a pair of monitors by them, and feel like I got good value for my money..
Ron gets "crapolla" as a direct consequence of having his head up his arse.
There may be other points in your post, but I get a slight headache reading it, I've been awake too long..

Well, T2 looks fine to me, the price is within range of what I'd spend on a competing product, and I can find a use for about 1/2 of the listed plugins. It's still cheaper than Orion Platinum, and far cheaper than SONAR or Cubase. And even without the plugs, the list of upgraded and new features more than justifies the cost to me.
I'm sure there will be plenty of folks unhappy because things didn't go the way they wanted them to, oh well. I didn't get surround mixing but I'm not throwing a hissy fit about it.

I don't think so. I think you are looking at Tracktion from the wrong angle. Mackie need to grow their user-base, and as has been seen with FL and all the other sequencers, having a product on a shelf in Guitar Center sells product. Putting T in a box with a enough stuff to get someone started is pretty much an essential marketing move IMHO.Nu Audio Science wrote:Its probably just me but it seems that a lot of plugins are being bundled with T2 just to more than double the price of the software
As existing users, we should really only be interested in the features, and this stuff is not really about us.
If you are comparing them against behrinher then they are pricey. If instead you look at Mackie gear as being luxury at a budget conscious price then they are actually very good value for money.Louds other (IMO overpriced) products
I remember when the VLZ technology first came out - you could finally get pro-level noise-floor in a budget analogure mixer. Sure behringer had cheaper units, but they were noisy as an arse, and the next step up from mackie's VLZ technology was pretty damn expensive.
It seems to me they are throwing a lot of money at Tracktion. I'd say they are pretty damn commited to makign Tracktion a big deal.but it feels to me like a distinct lack of trust in T from Loud
'cos he's freakin bonkers I imagine. And on that last point because i dont post here very often can someone actually tell me why Ron gets so much crapolla ?

Platinum ears sorry you couldn't read my post but i only use diction where necassary and it looks fine to me sorry about that. (Sorry i just looked at your post and it seems you like big holes with emoticons in ,Again sorry im used to just reading plain text)
Chico Karbon hasn't been working on his port of Stepchild much recently because he's busy writin some software for another company oh and our stuff aswell
(Im guessing you know he's my partner in NAS) but im not sure it will be furthered due to various comments aimed at him from users of a couple of forums trying to ridicule the port and saying they would do better (Nothing ever materialised though
:):) ) ,It always seems humorous to me that people will happily flame something or give it amazing support at the changing of the wind ,I will have a word with him and see what he says but i cant promise anything he is very very busy (Hes just moved aswell)

I got hate mail for some people 'cos they didn't like the couple of nasty free plugs I wrote ages back, and one particularly insane one from some dude he wanted me to know that "FRUITY HATEING f**ks LIKE U NEED 2 f**king DIE LIKE FAGGOTS FROM AIDS." (oh there were some exclamation marks and such added for good measure).Nu Audio Science wrote:It always seems humorous to me that people will happily flame something or give it amazing support at the changing of the wind
I have no idea what the hell he was talking about, but after a couple too many of those kinds of mails I quit posting my plugs online.

That's really horrible. No wonder some devs are fed up with it and quit...valley wrote: I got hate mail for some people 'cos they didn't like the couple of nasty free plugs I wrote ages back, and one particularly insane one from some dude he wanted me to know that "FRUITY HATEING f**ks LIKE U NEED 2 f**king DIE LIKE FAGGOTS FROM AIDS." Me? I already did. Pretty much the month after I uploaded them.jtxx000 wrote:o come on, don't go the route of daniel...
I got a few rude ones about my racks guides too, but far less, and they were generally less loony.
It's a strange, strange world out there.

I look at the plugins thar being included and if was on the fence before I'm certainly not now. I have been struggling with a decision to purchase som plugins and the plugins that are bein included will definately work for what I want to do. Given the price, the updates done to Tracktion and now the plugins. I'm sold. With or without an upgrade package.
Cheers...
