I actually made 2 tunes last night with Tracktion and must say that it IS without doubt the most logical and instantly usable Host I have used so far (also used Logic 5.5, SXV3, Orion 5.8, EXT, FL & Live V4) and in my current search for a new host looks likely to get my cash, I was also looking at Podium (wonderfull GUI/design) & Samplitude V8 (some say similar to Logic I say this one is HARD WORK!) but these both suffer from a hardly intuitive interface/set-up procedure.
The only downer for me with T1 is that with 2 monitors I cant help feeling that it would be so nice to be able to drag that bottom 3rd of the screen away and plonk it on a second monitor along with the piano-roll - a bit like the detaching of the piano-roll in Reason - would it be such a biggie?
Further still it would give those with 2 monitors the extra flexability - if you only have one monitor then it makes no difference, also the program would still be fully visible with 1 or 2 monitors, it would simply allow you to spread out the 3 aspects that make up the GUI.
Anyway it looks likely I will get T2, I really like the look of what I have seen so far - to think the previous two times I looked at this program it did nothing for me, something must have clicked!

tracktion's ui is not well suited to being dragged over two monitors - it is best when paired with one decent sized monitor (it is after pretty efficient with space).
That said, you can drag and lock vst windows onto your second monitor, and many T users have something like audition running on a second screen too.

I agree that the GUI is pretty well designed (well very well IMO!) and thinking of the last time I loaded Battery V2 up in SXV3 and SX opened up like 32 mixer channels which really need 4 monitors - its nice to know you can at least drag a vsti onto the spare monitor or perhaps have Adobe Audition loaded and ready to edit your waves!
