How many NFR users are now getting T2?

I'm just asking out of curiosity. I know there are a few, but I'm not really sure how many. But I kind of want to see the result of the Mackie offer with the NFR. I think it will be proven that the marketing tactic worked, and there will be more paying customers because of it.

I don't think it's the kind of think that can be proved or disproved. There's no control group.

(That sounded more dismissive than I intended. I'm just skeptical in general of treating marketing as if it were a science...)

I understand. But I'm not trying to do anything scientific. Just curious how many people who are here are probably getting T2 because of the NFR. That's all. Nothing to prove, as it's not possible to technically prove it. I only used the word "prove" above speaking of how in time we will definately see that the marketing tactic worked. But I don't plan on proving anything here. Strictly curiosity.

been using NFR for about a month and will maybe upgrade if the demo checks out.
I get a few pops/clicks with T1 even though latency settings etc seem ok
Great software and would love to ditch cubase on my laptop if T2 agrees with my system.
EDIT
not necessarily interested in T because of nfr, I was in the market for a new host any way

Hi Koolkeys! I purchased a T1 liscence from a kvr member a few weeks after trying out the NFR version, I won't be upgrading for a while but I'm sure I will in the future (when finances permit). I turned a friend onto the NFR and he is hooked , I'm not sure if he will need the new features right away but I'm sure he will be more likely to buy T2 than anything else when he upgrades.
Perhaps you could add a poll to this thread?

Donwloaded the NFR and ran it on XP and OSX. I have now bought T1 as it is the first piece of music software that works the way my old addled mind does. Will definitely upgrade to T2.

I voted "I am waiting for T2 to buy, but have NFR".
There's one addendum to be made, though: I was perfectly willing to buy T1 before, but my bank account was not.
As it is, I'm still going to have to wait until this summer to get T2, but as soon as I get my first paycheck, it's a done deal.

I bought T1 several months ago... love it, got a couple people to buy it and several others to get the nfr. Now I have a network of T users with whom I collaborate using archives.
Since I doubt I'll be able to convince them all to upgrade, in a way it's actually because of the NFR promo that I most likely will not be getting T2, depending on backward/forward compatability.

I'm quite happy with the NFR release, in fact I never would have considered Tracktion if it weren't for this offer. I was cruising along fine with Cubase SX3. I had looked at T a couple of times, but the "no mixer" thing turned me off (and to be honest, it still does, but I'm willing to mix in SX if I have to, T is just that handy as a host).
I really doubt I'll upgrade to T2, at least for the time being, because the NFR of T1 does me just fine for now. The only thing I use MIDI for is drums, everything else is "live", so I don't need the new features that badly (and for what SX has, I have more than enough MIDI stuff there). Should the price of T2 drop over time, or if there are cheap copies on eBay, then I may upgrade.

I know, I know... I didn't say I like to mix in Cubase, I just can't wrap my head around the mixing paradigm in T. It's not that I come from a traditional hardware background, either. I just prefer all the sliders in a nice, horizontal row.platinumears wrote:dealwithit wrote:I'm willing to mix in SX if I have to,![]()
