Adobe are smart in offering their 30-day fully-functional trial.

Due to giving this (and some of the less expensive editors) a whirl, it's inconceivable that my future will NOT have Audition in it. I may not have a lot of money, but I've suddenly re-prioritized my music purchasing for the future. I've been considering a few different plug-ins and a few different pieces of hardware (I need LCD monitors some day, and even mediocre studio nearfields will be better than my multimedia speakers), but that's all out the window.

I am loving every second of Audition. It complements Tracktion is a way that fits in perfectly with my way of working. I have never seen the big deal about 'realtime' or 'latency-free' processing, which makes the suite of Audition's effects and algorithms perfect for me.

-record in Tracktion
-run the noise reduction in Audition
-normalize and/or use other dynamics in Audition
-fix vocals ( ) in Audition
-Arrange and add further effects in Tracktion
-Final Mixdown in Tracktion
-Final 'Master' in Audition

I really don't know how I'm going to live without Audition now that I'm accustomed to it and have had a chance to start getting more deeply into it.

If I had to choose between one and the other (thankfully I don't!) it would still have to be Tracktion, because it's the environment I work in. With Audition, it's like "OK, I need to pop down to the lab for a moment", but the results from the lab are wonderful.

I'm in
