Hello,
I am fairly nwe to computer recording and have just started messing around with Tracktion and really like it so far. I was looking around on the internet yesterday and came acrost a plugin that was specificly designed for tracktion that let you route the audio from one track to record onto another track. Now I can not find it again. I was wondering if anyone on this board know what this plugin is and where I can get it? Thanks

Hmm...
Well, what you're describing can be done natively without a plug-in in many different ways, depending on the intended result.
What specifically are you trying to do? I can't think of anything that would need a plug-in. The only plug-in I can think of that even closely comes to what you're describing is Senderella, but it's not really for 'recording' the output of one track to another. Rather, it's for setting up send effects.
I have to admit, I can't imagine what you're trying to do so you'll have to provide a specific example of what you want to achieve.

Thanks for the help.
I should explain better what I need to do. My sound card is an Echo Audio MIA MIDI. The only inputs that is has is MIDI, analog audio, and SPIFD inputs. When I use a VST instrument for sounds in Tracktion it works fine(I hear the VST and audio tracks), but when I render it down to burn a track to a CD, the audio tracks are good but I do not get any of the VST instruments that I have recorded. On the audio tracks, all of the VST effects plugins are working when I render it down. Am I doing something wrong in how I use the Instuments? On my last sound card the I just removed from the system there was an input that was called pre EQ that I could record from one track to another within tracktion. Any advice that you can send my way involving this is greatly appriciated. Thanks

Weird phenomena, 10range... If I replace "VST instrument" with "Hardware Midi instrument" then the message you wrote actually makes some sense. If not, its weird...

I may not be using the correct terms for all the items that I am describing, but what is not being created in an audio track is a VST plugin instrument. I am a bit confused about what is actually happening when I am trying to record. I am not sure if I am trying to do something that the sound card will not actually do or what.

I think he might be referring to the TapeIt vst.
I use this to record 'live' tweaking of other effects into a new .wav file. I don't know of any other way to do it other than with TapeIt.
I think it's a cool plugin. Maybe there is an easier way, but I don't know what it is.
Specifically, I like to tweak the knobs of Bionic Delay 'live' not with automation tracks.
TapeIt lets me record what the audio output is, into a .wav file, that can then be re-imported into T.
I also like to use it with SupaTrigga, as there are controls on SupaTrigga which beg for live twiddling.
Anybody know of a different way to accomplish this, I'm all eyes and ears.

This is what TapeIt does very nicely. I use it often.AD80 wrote:Didnt Voxengo just come out with a free plug-in that will let you record incoming audio to another file? Maybe that will work.
