Question: How does one get the cursor in the arrangement view to show up immediately in the same position in the external audio editor?

Random Rant: I grew up on cool/audition. Then, I discovered vsti's and have used some sort of vsti host/arranger ever since...cubase, logic, and tracktion. They all seem to forget one thing... to build in a simple "easy to use" audio editor that edits in clip without taking away your view of the other files in the arrange window. Sure Cubase has a sample/part editor, no where near as intuitive as Audition or Sound Forge. Hearing/seeing the change of an audio file in the arrangment IS very important, and would make work flow so much smoother.
I think this is what would push tracktion over the rest. You could count on my money down the road.

You can't get one program to know the cursor position of another program unless the two developers collaborate and agree upon some sort of integration.

Tracktion already DOES have editing in the timeline, but it's not very full-featured.

It would be neat if by dropping a VST into the clip, it updated the waveform's appearance even without actually destructively changing it... but it would be CPU- and time-intensive to have all clips in a track updated according to VST present on the whole track as well as responding to automation.

Good Point...
I wonder if there is a way to incorperate cursor position into wav-header information? I suppose if this was possible then it would have been done already...?

While it is not possible to make this info available in standard .wav files, it may available in broadcast wave (.bwav) files, functionality which will be incorporated in T2...

Also, while it is not directly stated, I have a feeling (from reading between the lines) that audio editing will be somewhat improved in T2...

To what extent these statements are true will be seen in the next few weeks (or hopefully days)...

I should preface these statements by saying that I do very little audio editing other than to adjust the length of clips, so any such changes in T2 will mean little to me....

Which lines are we reading between? :D I'd love to have better audio editing, though I'm still considering an Audition purchase anyhow.

just my personal opinion...not to be taken seriously..

In that case, I can't wait for the T2 demo.

I'm just getting my feet wet with T1 but the work flow is impressive. I would like to see a whole lot more for the amount of money they plan on charging for T2 though.
