One (maybe) stupid question

When I start to record new track in Tracktion I always hear new track together with all unmuted recorded tracks.
As I obviously need earlier tracks to play in order to add new one over them, it is annoying to hear delayed track while playing/singing as well, due to latency produced by the system.
Is there any way to mute channel that is currently recording in order to hear just recorded tracks and monitor playing/singing in real time via external mixer.
It might be apparent solution, but I can not trace it (no to talk about lack of real manual).
If above is not possible at all, than the question is addressed to developers.

Yes, it helps to avoid latency and thanks.
But sound still goes through sound card (when in record mode), so I can't adjust perfectly volume of previously recorded tracks with track that is heard during recording.
Does it mean there is no way to mute (for listening) the track during recording and to monitor only previously recorded tracks?
If not, it is greatly missing function for me.

Disable end-to-end for the input device does exactly what you want. If that doesn't work it probably means that your audiocard's driver is set to monitoring the input - so you must look there.

Thanx Pady,sounds hopefully.
Sound is not heard when 'end to end' disabled, but when I start Recording sound (of recorded track) is again mixed with previously recorded tracks (without latency though)
Do you have any idea what exactly should I do?
I have RME 9652 sound card and couldn't find I can do anything with that. If I turn off the input channel it becomes fully disabled and can not be recorded, so no idea how to put it to Tracktion and not hear during recording phase.

This is a clear indication that it cannot be Tracktion that makes you hear it. I don't know about the 9652 - I have the HDSP myself - but I guess you have to disable the Monitoring swith in the driver's dialogue.(without latency though)

Perhaps you need to change the monitoring settings? My Delta 66 allows me to route the "monitor mixer" outputs to the first output pair if I want, or I can directly route the first ASIO pair to the DAC.. sounds like you need the second option, or its equivalent.GYang wrote:Thanx Pady, sounds hopefully.
