Hello,

I've yet released two weeks ago a free vst mixer 16-4-2 ("Varicelle").
Many users of the KVR forums had asked to me by mail to create a smaller mixer with only 8 tracks.
It's done : name of this mixer "Mobylette". :D
Many features.
if you see a bug, say me by mail.
Tried on Tracktion and some hosts, but not all.

If somebody hates mixers on Tracktion, needless to puke on me and my mixers, I shall not read this forum today, 'cause I'm afraid of some reactions !

I like you, Daniel. ;)

Is this one less of a CPU killer? Sorry, but the last one I just couldn't use effectively, it was killing my CPU cycles.

Hey Daniel,
Just wanted to let you know that racks will now support 48 I/O for Tracktion 2 as you requested so you will be able to make your super mixer then. :)

 You put sub-groups in it? :o  :-o

Alternatively, there's infinite flexible sub-grouping just by using Tracktion's built-in features with no further CPU overhead or track limitations.

Oops, I wasn't supposed to say anything. ;)

I really DO like you, Daniel, and admire your perseverance with all of us Tracktioneers on your case all the time! But we persevere because we hope some day you'll at least TRY it the Tracktion way and admit defeat. <grin>

And then spend your energy creating useful stuff :hihi:

ooohhhhh, new racks feature! Anything else being added in the racks? I asked this before, and Beno said nothing new in racks. Unless this has been added since then.

And Daniel, I don't think anyone is "mad" at you for making the mixer. They just know that for most people, it's not necessary. However, for some, it's a welcome inclusion. And any time someone wants to contribute to the community is ok with me! But you really should give the Tracktion way a chance. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

No that's it. We just added it for daniel as the limit of 23 inputs/outputs was fairly arbitrary anyway, it wasn't a big deal to change. Actually, there is another small improvement, autoconnect I/O will add inputs and outputs as needed to the rack.

How about an alternate skin more fitting T2's UI? Not that I have a problem with it as is, but you may make it more acceptable to some around here,

p.s. I should shut up because I don't own Tracktion anymore. But T2 is only $149 now :)

Not really, I have a nice new Yamaha EZ-AG to keep me warm at night. And Live4 suits be better than anything I've tried so far. I just really like sequencers and not being able to fire up T is a bit of a bummer. I'll definitely use the T2 demo and will be looking for T to get beatmapping/timestretching. When that happens I'll probably buy it again. It just may be a year or more, who knows?

daniel,
I'm getting an intermittent loud buzzing noise out of this. I'm using it in a rack to mix multiple outputs of my DR-008 drum vsti.
I'm on WinXP, with an Athlon XP 2000, 768 meg of memory.

For those who think a mixer in T is unnecessary: I thought so too, until I ran up against timing inconsistencies with racks. :x The only way for me to avoid them is to build my entire drum mix (DR-008(4 stereo and 4 mono outs), compressers, EQ, reverbs, and a whole bunch of vol/pan filters) into one rack filter. The kit I'm using has seperate samples for Dry, Overhead mics, and Room mics, for about 24 different kit pieces. That's a lot of vol/pan filters. Since I can't tag or rename the vol/pan filters, I spend most of my time trying to figure out which one controls which sound.
Having a mixer like this with nameable channel strips is not just a convenience or preference in this situation, it's a necessity!

Thanks for your effort on this daniel, hopefully you can iron out the rest of the bugs. :)

I don't use racks, either... very often at least...

Then again, I don't use multi-channel VST.

I tried to use multi-outs & racks in T1... Attack, to be specific but I gave up, it ruined the whole ease-of-use experience for me. I do drums in eXT until T2 comes out. Which is ok, I'm not complaining but I think bk has a solid point.
