Firstly, DK+ is great. So nice to have a dedicated drum machine for use in energyXT and Tracktion.

Only problem that's come up is importing WAV files. I wanted to use some out the sounds that come with FL Studio's FPC kits, but it seems they are compressed WAVs (PCM, Ogg, other codecs etc.).

Are there any plans to support compressed WAVs?

Otherwise, does anyone know of any programs which will batch convert compressed WAVs into standard uncompressed WAVs?

I could do it one by one in Audacity, but that would take weeks. :(

I think there are free batch converters,
try google,
maybe I'll search it too and post a link later

what's the most used compression in FL Studio's FPC kits?

Hi Luisi,

The files seem to have been encoded with Ogg Vorbis (mode 2).

I think this might have been a user-supplied FPC kit and not one of the ImageLine ones, which all seem to be PCM.

Don't worry about it, as I doubt many people encode WAVs with OGG (presumably most just make *.ogg files!).

Though if anyone knows of any good convertors I'd appreciate it. :)

Thanks.

Sorry to bump this, but I thought it might be useful for anyone who has the same problem with compressed WAV files.

You can use dbPowerAMP to go through your WAV directories and automatically convert compressed WAVs to standard PCM encoded WAVs, either replacing the ones that exist, or putting them in a new directory.

All my samples work fine in DK+ now. :)
