How much do you guys think the upgrade will be? I'm expecting like $99. Right?

What do we have to go by? It would just be a guess wouldn't it? If it comes down to hope though, I am hoping for 80.00 or less. Seems to me that an upgrade price should not be more than the price of the original software.

Several times I think but I never posted my (oh so important) opinion.

All right, I'll come forward and admit I'm one of the upgrade price beta testers. PM me $99 and I'll let you know how it works out.

Plus 49.95 for the dongle

Well, new is essentially $149 everywhere, that minus original cost is $69. So it should be $69 at the most to upgrade, based on what T staff has said regarding previous users getting a good deal. So I'd say give T1 owners a deal and make it $50, essentially $20 off. It sounds reasonable that could be the case. More than $69 and I bet this place will explode. $70 and there would at least be a minor riot. I think.

tricky call for Mackie... Beno said months back T1 price + upgrade would be less than T2... but is that T2 RRP ($199) or some lesser figure. Other businesses tend to use their RRP (not surprisingly), I don't think Mackie can be held to the prices stores are discounting T2 to.

And then the riot will begin... :P $199 - $80 is $119. Get a $20 break and you're still looking at $100. Not that it wouldn't be worth it, but it could be seen as reneging on a perceived promise. Personally, since a rabid userbase is partially responsible for T's past success, I really thing Mackie should let it go for $69 maximum, so no promises could claim to be broken. I'm sure the vast majority of T1 owners would be happy with that price and upgrade accordingly. Chalk it up to PR costs or something.

$49 seems about right.

The improvements to T1 can't be worth more than it cost to buy the original. Q.E.D. the upgrade should be less than the initial cost. i.e. less than $80

$29 if you've had Tracktion over a year. :hihi:

what he said 8) .

whatever, I will pay whatever the price may be. I would have thought $80 would be fair, the same as the T1 price, but based on the RRP it is quite possible it will be about $100.

according to all the plugins $100 or more IS fair (as sad as it is).

I would be stunned if the upgrade price was less than $99. These guys aren't making software for free. This argument that the T2 upgrade price should be the T2 price minus the T1 price is absolute cr@p IMO. Are people seriously trying to suggest that those who have had e.g. 2 years use out of T1 should effectively have had it for free?

IMO a fair upgrade price would be $99, but I wouldn't be surprised if it went as high as $129.
