Hi, does anyone know how the receptor is able to support vst plugins? There isn't a simple solution to do this in linux at the moment. Is the receptor using any of the known workarounds using WINE, vstserver etc.??
Thanks,

Receptor is using WINE, but we do not use Jack or other Linux audio software and we do not use a server for VST support. We wrote an entire application that supports VST hosting, MIDI, audio mixing, etc. I'm not sure why you think it is so difficult to host VST plug-ins in Linux.o.strandem wrote:Hi, does anyone know how the receptor is able to support vst plugins? Thanks,
Different plug-ins have different quirks and some have WINE compatibility problems. We put an awful lot of work into making sure that the plug-ins we support work as well as possible. The devil is in the details, but there is nothing fundamentally difficult about hosting VST in Linux.
We fixed a few bugs in WINE, but those fixes were contributed back to the open source community, so they are available for everybody.
