..i´ve heard that owners of NFR copies (like me :) ) will have to pay full price for T2...is this true? :(

..i mean it would be fair for the people who buyed it regularly... ...but a little discount would be nice, too...

Why? We got T1 for nothing. Why should we get a discount on T2 as well? We got T1 for nothing, remember?

you in no way deserve any kind of discount. you are lucky to have gotten that for free- noone else can now! even when you could get it for free, you were still able to buy it and put yourself in line for a discount.

discount is always nice. but for nothing.. there's no reason for mackie to honour such an idea.
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

Hahaha, Jules or Beno should have done an "NFR IS NOW VALID FOR UPGRADE PRICING" joke on April 1st.

The forum would have gone up in flames. :D

...o.k., but a 1€ discount coupon would be nice anyway... :D

tkay, would you accept US$10 off on xoxos' steam instead? :-) [see group buy thread]

It would not be nice to paying customers of course to give NFR customers discount. But look at it the other way: there is much less incentive to buy the upgrade for NFR people (read: spend money) than for regular T1 guys.

I'm not sure I will (I'm a NFR cheapo). Certainly not until I have tested the sync options (is there really no midi clock in? :bang: ). I have not installed the demo yet, but the description only mentions midi clock out? Is NOBODY using hardware anymore?

People are using hardware, which is why Tracktion supports sync. Most people sync the hardware to the sequencer, not the other way round.

For synching a sequencer to hardware, why on earth would you want to use MIDI Clock? MIDI Clock is just about stable enough for tempo matching arps, or effects such as delay that need BPM info, but it is completely ill-suited to actual synchronisation duty. There is no time stamp data so if one device drifts it'll never come back in time. I honestly can't think of a single reason why you'd want to do that.

Use MTC. Tracktion will lock tightly to your hardware, and keep time even if timeframe data is corrupted in transit.

But HW clocks are often much more stable than PC generated clocks. And yes, I do feel arp & delay syncing is a big deal. Most synths do not respond to MTC sync, only to clock.
As is with my Nord G2 and Waldorf XT. So it is a big deal to me. A while back I tried to sync my hw to my friends laptop with Live4 and midi clock out, and it was an absolute nightmare. As said, I have to check out the demo, but I would have preferred both options.

NFR copies = no worth?
what a bloddy cheek!!!

if you have never used it then no!

otherwise say thankyou!!

you're missing my point:

A hardware clock may be accurate down to the nearest billionth of a second, but if it sends MIDI clock, it's telling the sequencer nothing more than "some time just passed."

If you are serious enough about synchronisation that you invested in a hardware clock, MIDI clock is a completely innappropriate method of distributing timing info.

Use MTC. If you have hardware that needs MIDI clock then either pipe MIDI clock out from Tracktion, or buy an extra MTC-to-MIDI clock converter to chain your other hardware off of.

Maybe I should organize an auction for my (paid) T1 license :D

... but on the other hand... I just like having an unused T1 icon on my desktop.
