When the demo first came out, I happy if a bit underwelmed with the new midi editor, but after a few days, I have to say I really like it a lot. I can't say what it is exactly, but I seem to enjoy working in it moreso than the other editors I've been using lately, the ability to tag notes a color is great for highlighting variations on a basic theme, you can see what notes exactly are different. I find the velocity really easy to manage now, and the ability to change so much of the UI also helps make the midi editor a nice place to work.

Yes, I've been really quite pleased with the new MIDI editing.

Not too sure about the line tool though, I think it would be nicer if you could slice notes with it. :)

But bear in mind, when a new program says "improved MIDI editing", you're probably going to base that judgement on what your current favourite app for MIDI editing happens to be, so a lot will be based on personal preferences.

But I like it a lot, it covers nearly all the areas that the previous version was lacking.

All I can say is T1 was frustrating for me, this is really a big improvement. I've used lots of piano rolls and think tT2 stands up well, if a bit spartan. But that's part of it's charm really.

Rarely, why, it has issues?

i have a slightly irreverant view towards midi editing; tend to load up some interesting sounds (shortcircuit!) and draw pretty patterns of notes to see what they sound like. 8) The line tool is great for this, all manner of rapid, glitchy runs. Though I must admit it's probably of limited use to trad musos...

GaryG: Always keen to learn new things! :D Like I say, I'm coming at it from a different (prejudiced) angle, but it has potential as a quick 'strummer', if you get what I mean. I must experiment with it more.

It would be nifty to have an option to have the line tool stick to a defined scale.
