Aloha Beno
I just got my copy of Electronic Musician which has a 8 page T2 ad which list, as a plug-in, the Mackie Mixing Suite; which is described as "Multiband compressor ducker, de-esser[1], channel strip[2], and reverb[2]"
footnote [1] "Available April 2005" footnote [2] "Available June 2005"
Is this the much requested mixer for Traction ["channel strip" would imply trim and fader controls]??

A channel strip does not imply fader controls. This IS NOT a mixer! In the hardware world, a channel strip has a preamp and typically EQ, compression, deEsser, and the like in one rack-mount unit. For example...

how about the "Mixing Suite" title then -- seems that would imply a "mixer"??flanneljammies wrote:A channel strip does not imply fader controls. This IS NOT a mixer! [edit add] plus I went to the sweetwater link > went to the least expencive channel strip > went to a googled review of the unit and the reviewer stated that "There is a master output control to provide 10 db more or less gain before output" [http://www.mojopie.com/eureka.html] point being that sounds like trim [or fader] gain controll to me, am I mistaken in that implication??

Mahalo for the reply
I am neither for or against a mixer being added as a plug-in
its just that the advertising of a "Mixer Suite" is confusing given this Traction art form of "mixing without a mixer"

Awesome! You've lived the life, bo'. I'm on the south side on Omao Road. My house in Kalaheo was destroyed in Iniki. Plenty guys selling akule out of their trucks in Lihue. You would not believe the price of land out in Kekaha now...!! And there's new stores and stuff going in at Port Allen. Kauai's not the same with Walmart and now a Home Depot.
Blessings.
