What is the deal with daHornet?

i downloaded daHornet recently thinking it was a freebie. after i installed it, it said that i couldn't use it until i had obtained a serial number for it. and then i noticed that there was a $50 fee. am i getting confused here or.............?

The serial number is on the web page underneath the pic of daHornet. Cut/Paste/Listen/Smile
