Nobody ever said 150 new features. 128 was the HIGHEST number I've seen. And don't forget, despite not being able to see many of them, even the ones you can see are not all huge. Some of them are small, but they still count as a feature. Remember when Cubase SX3 came out, they claimed over 100 new features, and it was the same way. Many, MANY small improvements.
I promise they are there. It may just take you a while to find them all.
Anyway, not to criticize you Ron, sorry. But back on topic.
For me, T2 just seems to run smoother overall. The feel and the look are just way more polished. For me, that is awesome, and even though I really enjoy all the features, this was a big thing for me.
Also, the included effects and instruments. I would dare say that no other host(except maybe Logic) has a bundle of effects that it this great. Between the third party ones and the Mackie ones, it's totally awesome. And they may even be better than Logic in some areas, but I know that Logic does have ALOT of plugs included. But other than that, I don't think anyone else rivals the amount and quality of the new plug bundle in T2.

at this point, mostly the bundled plugins. I like the colors. we'll see, I'm trying other things. I've got Digital Performer showing up tomorrow.

Because the great T1 playflow is still there. In lots of pretty colours. And the MIDI and Audio tweaks. But mainly because Jules' friend's cousin's uncle's wife needs the money for the operation.

Not really impressed with the plug list....now if they bundled it with their UAD card...

external sync, video support (i hope it gets more detailed though)the Mackie compressors, improved input monitoring, the click through GUI issue is much better with some plug-ins, simple and clutter-free send/returns, it still works like tracktion.

seriously though if not anything its just the faith of having an upgraded tracktion. I mean I dont care what freaking major features. I just know that my clients will like what ever I have to offer, and tracktion helps make that easier. The switchable interface on the sides really will help me focus more on recording, and the input things makes it a lot easier. I dont enjoy juggling 8 input arrows hehe. I just have faith in those 128 or whatever features and i consider it merely as a small upgrade if anything.

i like the fact that i can use it with my mixer to record live shows. it was basically the reason i bought the mackie mixer. i wanted an interface. i was selling the pro tools le set-up, so i needed a software as well.
with the onyx, i got a 16ch interface, a software and a free mixer all in one package. and im hoping that T2 will be even better.
the color editor is NOT enough to make me want the software. actually i don't care how it looks. it's already butt ugly, so cutting ME loose with a color editor will not make it look better. anyway, im not after a pretty interface, im after functionality. if i can make good end product audio, i don't give a shit how the tools looked that made it.
what i do care about is the ability to set the software up for live venue recording situations. i need templates and folders.
as far as tracktion being bundled with the mackie mixers, i do wonder though, how mackie could even consider selling the combo as a live mixer with recording software, which people will want to use in a live situation. i wonder if they realize that they, the users, will be limited severely in the live venue setting without folders and templates included in the setup of the software. it's a serious hiderance for me personally. i mean, the mixer will work all day. i need my software to be able to do this as well. i have days where i may record seven bands in a row in a live situation (this is my most extreme situation) and at that point, i really need folders and templates, so that i can have a "session" ready and waiting for the band when they get their shit on the stage and hit that first note. and i need to be able to do that all day long, with multiple bands. granted this happens once a year, if that, but it happens, and i need to be ready and able to do this without going to an equipment rental facility and renting a pro tools rig, which i loathe. but sometimes you have to go to the guys that have the experience, to get things done.
that's not meant as a dig on tracktion. only a dig at mackie. they should be pushing julian to get these features into tracktion now that they have him on the payroll.
i can't believe they're still on vacation. who gets this much vacation? dear lord! no wonder we don't have templates. lol. jk.
im sure they'll get them in there eventually. maybe theres something legitimate in the way of putting them in the package.
who knows. but im still buying tracktion 2. and im still using T1. i just do the work arounds, even if it takes me all day to set up a session, it usually goes alright. but those templates would surely make things easier. and id stop bitching, because that's the only thing im having trouble with at the moment.
the box is too busy. personally, i think they should have went with a plain brown box with basic black graphics on the outside, with no gloss. but that's just my superior opinion.
