Hello,
I had a demo of T2 from the Mackie UK guys on Saturday at Sounds Expo - looks great (even without the plugs).
As May is only 2 weeks or so away - are we any closer to getting a definitive upgrade price out of Mackie ?
(Apologies if I've missed something recently)

You've missed nothing. No word on upgrade price yet. I think that's supposed to be announced along with the release of T2.

I suspect the following scenario as far as final pricing.
Obviously $199.00 for the boxed version (not counting discounts by retailers).
$0-$40 for registered users of T1 with the plug-ins that are a part of the T2 demo. All Mackie has to do is change the unlock key to enable T2.
$50-$100 for the T2 boxed upgrade. The boxed version would have the plug-ins that require a separate CD or CD's for installation, plus the cost of boxing T2.
Of course I could be way off and we get charged full price.

zpixel - no point starting any rumours. The $0-$40 suspicion of yours has no basis in reality. First of all, as much as Jules loves us (
) he's not going to give it away for $0. Second of all, there has been no evidence to suggest a bare-bones (no 3rd party plugs) option.
Next, we won't get charged full price. It's been stated many times by Mackie representatives that we will have an attractive upgrade path.

Lunch Money
Fl Studio is free for purchasers of previous versions, provided of course it needs to be the same tier.
Just because my scenario has not been mentioned by Mackie does not put it out of possiblitity.

hmmm - a free upgrade could explain why they won't tell us the price till its out. That would prevent a rush of people buying T1 to get the upgrade... well there's always hoping.

zpixel - A free toaster and lap dance is also within the realm of possibility. But it's not likely to happen.
FL Studio sells their product partially BASED ON the lifetime upgrade option (which costs extra). Raw Material has done no such thing. $0 would be pretty silly. I guess one could always hope against all hope, but as long as people reading this thread realize that your post was out of left field.

No offense intended, your a top geezer Lunch but in hind sight that reads pretty funny (like the guy who turned down the Beatles or IBM stating no need for more than five computers in the whole world back in the fiftiesLunch Money wrote:The $0-$40 suspicion of yours has no basis in reality.
For the record I would have agreed with you, I never imagined a $20 (12 UKPounds!) upgrade price.

i think it's fair enough what he said tho. we see it plenty around here: someone suggests something, and soon people start believing that it's fact, or that mackie owe us.
all lunch money was doing was making sure that this didn't happen; if it had, there would be uproar about it if it were released at a price that people had otherwise expected. he wasn't saying it to be cruel or to necessarily stop ideas, just making sure that rumours didn't start spreading causing potential unrest.
as it goes, we've been treated! hooray for release!

Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

Haydxn,
If LunchMoney had stated it like you did it would have been much more in line about stressing caution. However, he just wanted to slam somebody who had a reasonable hunch. LunchMoney said,"but as long as people reading this thread realize that your post was out of left field." I am glad I was so out in left field.
