Um, no. Well sort of.
If you open a T2 file that doesn't use any of the new T2 items (e.g. aux sends), then it will open fine. If you are taking advantage of a new feature (that is saved to the edit), then it may not open properly and obviously won't sound proper.

some new features with T2 work flawless in T1! For example, loop recording! If you record audio in loop using T2, and open the session in T1, the loop as there with sorting possibilities and all!!

or just use senderella in T2ceenda wrote:For the Aux/Sends, you can pretty much stick instances of Senderella where the Aux/Sends were originally. If you can remember the values that you used, that is...
& leave the 64bit mixing off!
but IMHO T2 has a different sound than T1

Or just use racks for aux sends.. its really not that difficult, and you get PDC too!

I'm warning you, platinumears--that smug "get a rack" attitude of yours is starting to wear on me...platinumears wrote:Or just use racks for aux sends.. its really not that difficult, and you get PDC too!

I have completed soundtracks for 3 video shorts (PSA) in T2 and then rendered in T1. This allowed me to use the new midi editing, video playback (essential for me) and Midi Clock to sync synths etc... Works fine
I doubt I'll ever launch Cubase again. Tracktion invites creativity, is fun, and most importantly, gets out of my way.
