FR: Select Next/Previous track keymaps

Typically, I like to have all of my tracks small except for the one I am currently working on. I like that track to be larger and centered. That way I can edit the current track and use one or two tracks above and below the current track as references.
Currently, when I switch tracks it takes several steps to get that behavior:
-shrink the other tracks (f9)
-select a track
-grow the track
-center the track
I would like to see two key mappings available that perform those steps. One that does them for the next track, and another that does them for the previous track.
By mapping these to pageup and pagedown, I could quickly cycle up or down through the tracks while keeping the mouse in the same horizontal location in the tracks.
It would also be nice to have options to specify the size of the default tracks and the size of the currently selected track.

Yeah, Logic does this and I'd love to see it in Tracktion.
*edit* Logic does do this, but you can't edit in the track, so Tracktion got this it would be much cooler than Logic

you can use the key mapping thingy in settings to make it do the same as logic with the up & down keys!!braj wrote:Yeah, Logic does this and I'd love to see it in Tracktion.

Sounds cool, but I think I've heard a lot of things recently where the functionality is basically there, but it needs a few key presses or mouse clicks to do it, the answer must be macros. They would solve thousands of obscure feature requests such as this, so pleeeeeeese, but might not happen soonjavascript:emoticon(':D')

What about having an "autozoom" mode?
When on, any selected tracked will be enlarged (like when double-clicking the track) and centred.

Macros would be great where we could chain several commands together.
But I think we would need a lot more basic functions to make them really useful.
For this particular case we would need:
-center track
-select next track
-select previous track
-zoom large (not just a toggle zoom like z)
-zoom medium
-zoom small
If there were others added to handle regions of automation data. We could create macros that moved and copied automation data with the clips as if they were tied to the clips.
These would require:
-Ways to select regions of automation.
-marked region
-region corresponding to selected clips
-cursor to end
-cursor to end of clip
-Ways to cut/copy paste these regions.
Jules could work on putting in a lot of simple commands that we could chain together however we wanted.
