Why not? - The algorithms used are certainly state of the art. Like analogue gear, it doesn't have linear phase, and it adds a certain flavour. If you like it, use it.
A good dedicated mastering eq however will give you a more accurate visualization of the eq curve, it might have a built in analyzer etc.
On the other hand, Q6 was specificially designed to be used as a track insert (send effect only with full Plugin Delay Compensation!), because its 8 snapshots might be very helpful when eq settings should change within the song. This way you need to record only 1 automation track rather than 6 or more. I consider this to be more intuitive than "normal" track eqs.
