Time stretching in T, as many have already commented, is relatively poor since it has clearly audible artifacts even with small stretches/shrinks. But what I find interesting is that to my ears, using the "Quick" time stretch setting seems to give better results that the "Best" setting. Has anyone had a similar experience, and does anyone have a theory of why this might be?

Anyone know of a slick way to use another tool to stretch/shrink individual clips in T?

well quick is best suited for drums whereas best is better for melody stuff

it is entirely dependant on the source material. different algorithms sound 'worse' on different source material depending on the frequency content. for a simple example, consider that drums and pitched melodies have dramatically contrasting spectral makeup; an algorithm that stretches one fairly smoothly may cause horrific mangling on the other, and vice versa.
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.
