huh, snap doesn't change anything. zoom in to a clip that is out of range of the play head/cursor. try moving it and the screen will move to wherever the cursor is.

T2, snap has nothing to do with it...
say your play cursor is at 0 and you zoom it to a clip at 2:00. if you try to move it the screen jumps back to the cursor.

if you leave scroll on & turn snap off you will be able to replacate it (unless i compleatly missunderstand scroll?)

No I still don't get it: if I zoom in the cursor follows, staying at the left hand side of the screen..

T1.6.0.1
Windows XP
Howdy guys,
I have the same problem as parke02, (with the caveat that I agree with platinumears, that I cannot get the cursor [purple line] to leave the screen).
If I try to drag a clip, the display area of my edit often shifts so that the active clip is no longer on screen.
Intensive scientific investigation
has determined that this problem occurs when the most recently played section of some clip is not on screen when the clip to be moved is on screen. Trying to move a clip results in the display jumping to the region of the edit (either to the left or right) where the most recently played clip is. I can get around this by briefly playing a small area of a clip which is on the same screen as the clip I want to move. Alternatively, if you hit F5 so that all clips are squished onto one screen before you try to move the clip, then clips can be moved without jumping although there are difficulties with resolution there when zoomed out so much.
Turning off scroll has no effect on this. I am not trying to play a clip at the same time.
