Tracktion 2 was working fine, then I added an omega firewire drive. Now I get a crashing noise that fades away in about 30 seconds whenever I load a new file or switch recoring tracks... any ideas?

Before you figure out the problem and solve it, sample it!

Mac or PC? What OS? What soundcard? What are your system specs?

flanneljammies~Interestingly, it just might be worth sampling...like a distant door being slammed hard.
System is as follows,P4 3.2, running xp home sp2, raptor hd, writing to an omega firewire drive, soundcard on motherboard is bypassed. I'm using a mackie onyx 1620
I have no outboard or VST effects hooked up yet.
Sidenote... if I move the firewire to the other port on the HD after I fire up the computer everything runs fine, but this is a pain as the computer is in another room.
