I can reproduce the CORRUPT INSTALL issue 100%

I heard that no one knew what was causing the corrupt install message that frequently appears while running tracktion.

Well, I can get it 100% of the time if I click on another window (such as settings or projects) while tracktion is playing the current project.

So just don't switch to another tab while playing a project in T2, instead, stop playback before changing settings or loading another project or edit.

EDIT: looks like I can get it other ways too. It seems to happen mostly while in the projects window... It happens so often. I'd really like to have this fixed.

:D

Peace.

Doesn't happen here. I can click other tabs without stopping playback first. No "corrupt install" message.

I sold a guy an amp who also was using a T2 cracked version. He complained about T2 crashing so said it sucked and he was touting Sonar as the best sequencer (also cracked probably  ). I thought it was crashing because it was cracked. I haven't had T2 crash in the way he described (Rewire issue?). Is the corrupt install the same issue?

I'm not saying you're T2 is cracked, but in case it is, maybe that's why it's crashing.

just in case you're not a crack-whore after all.. ;)

What sample-rate are you running the card at? SBLive cards exhibit all sorts of odd behaviour at anything other than 48KHz in my experience.. also, have you tried the KX Project drivers? I ran my old SBLive with those for quite a while, and they worked well. They might do a better job than ASIO4ALL as they are designed specifically for creative cards like yours..

I really didn't mean to insinuate anyone being a whore of any sort.

I got the corrupt install once, I was messing around opening rewire projects up, jumping from tracktion to live - I closed live & opened T2 demo straight after & 'poof', may have had something to do with live still being resident in task manager.
Can't replicate it as I don't have T2 demo on my pc anymore & I don't feel like buggering T1 up.

I'm not even using the full version. I am playing with the demo...

And after playing with it for 5 days now, I have to say my verdict is that it's a really good program with great potential but I honestly don't see how anyone who's serous about their music could put up with the bugs.
Think I'll go back to FL Studio and put up with the workflow issues just to have some stability and predictability.

However, if Tracktion gets better in the future, which I'm sure it will, I will switch.

By the way, ReWire mode is a nightmare... :( That's where alot of my issues occur.

Peace.

I'm extremely serious about my music.. some would say too serious! I find Tracktion very stable: the version of Cubase I use at work crashes more often than any Tracktion version I have aver used

I don't use re-wire myself, but Tracktion is generally known as a good stable re-wire master.. maybe you shouldn't give up so easily? ;)

What are you rewiring? FL5 to T?

not to come off as a jerk, but using a soundblaster card is the FIRST issue you have. If you are truly serious about your music, you will take that card out and get a real interface. those things are not meant for real recording and could be a source of your problems.

especialy if you have 64 bit mixing turned on..get a firebox or something..it's the first step to getting good sounds.
