call me question boy..but your answers have aided immensely. here's 2.
i have an edit made with Jamstix and BFD in a rack, and all the instances are put on different tracks etc. is there a way to copy it to different folders each time i start a new song (folder)? I try and drag it to a new folder but it doesn't work. any ideas? It is more then just a preset rack setup.
also, I have kontakt 1.5. I am more of a live drums guy, but I have been approached about doing some beats..etc. I was wondering how I could use kontakt in this way:
I like to find a kick sample, and then play it on the keys to the click in kontakt. It records the input I do as MIDI. I then find a snare and do the same thing..then the hats..all on seperate tracks for mixing purposes.
since I play the loops by hand, and I like the feel of that, I was wondering how you set it up so once you get an 8 bar thing going, you can cut and paste the MIDI parts so the same beat loops over and over. I come from the beatmaking school of ACID where you can paste hits in and just copy them over and over. (I prefer tapping them though, because it makes my beats feel a lot better)...any of you beatmakers, please let me know how you do it.any input is appreciated.
on a personal note, I'm trying to keep very busy, because my mind is preoccupied. my songwriting/recording partner and friend was severely injured in a very recent car accident and is in a coma..it looks like he will probably pass, but I am holding out hope. I am trying to bring myself to mix our final songs down for his family and friends, but right now it is too difficult for me to do..even if you arn't a believer in anything, please pray for him. i'd really appreciate it.. this work helps me keep my mind off it, because if i sit around too long, i get pretty stressed as you could imagine.
a couple more questions

1. export your edit as an archive (not the project) and import this archive into a fresh project.
2. Copy and Paste surely.. did I mis-understand?
Personaly, I like to <CNTRL> drag instead.. it does the same thing.
