VSTi's won't make any sound

I just installed T2 a few days ago. No matter what I do, I cannot get any VSTi's to make sound. This is both when I'm using an external midi controller and when using the on-screen keyboard. The midi input meter on the midi arrow on the left side tells me that midi is actually coming in from my controller and from the on-screen keys, so I know it isn't that.

And just for shits and giggles, I switched the left midi arrow from my RME Multiface midi input to a virtual midi yoke input, and then tried to use the on-screen keys with the same result: midi input meter registering input, but no sound from VSTi.

Yet strangely, when I open up projects that I created in T1, the midi files in place play the VSTi's just fine. However, when I attempt to play those same working VSTi's using my external controller or the on-screen keys, I get the same result as above.

And if I create a new project, add a VSTi, then open a midi file, I hear the audio fine.

Is there some new feature of T2 that I need to enable to make this work? I am following the exact same procedure I did in T1, and that worked fine.

I'm using a Pentium III 1.2GHz pc and an RME Multiface. And I'm attempting this with around 20 different VSTi's, none of which work.

Nope, everything works fine in T1.

this is a strainge one :?

AFAIK T1 & T2 shere the same settings file (but dont quote me on this) so if a project plays fine in T1 if you have the same asio device selected in T2 all should be the same

sorry but you will need somone with a bit more skill than me to help you fix this one :(

your midi channel is set to channel 1 isint it?

sorry last thing i can think of

I assume audio tracks work fine? and your vst tracks are set to output to the correct output? Do the meters show any signal?
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

i know what it is i bet.same thing that happened to me...go to settings and uncheck the "ssend all controllers off MIDI message....." option.

i have no idea why they made that a default option.

My midi channel is set to 1.

Which meters in particular are you talking about? The midi input meter in the left panel shows a definite signal, using either my external controller or midi yoke. If you are talking about the audio meters on the right side of the vst track, no, there is no output signal.

The vst tracks are set to the "default output", which is outs 1/2 of my Multiface. Audio tracks output audio just fine when set to the very same output, don't know why the vsti's won't do it.

I unchecked that right after I installed T2, so it's not that.

Are you filtering any MIDI channels in the inputs properties? What channel is your keyboard sending?

Post

Nope, no midi channels being filtered, and my controller is sending channel 1. I'm pretty sure it's not the controller because even triggering via the on-screen keyboard does not work, which is baffling, frankly.

I just looked up the microsoft help. Is your computer switched on?

Sorry, I could not think of anything else.

I had the same thing happen to me. There is another end-to-end switch under the transport controls that wasn't switched on. Do you have the pop-ups turned on? It kept popping up 'turn end-to-end on and IT WAS, but only on the input.
