Sample Tank tanking in T2

4 days ago my boxed version of T2 came in the mail, of the goodies that come with the boxed set everything works fine with the exception of Sample Tank 2. When I drop it as a new filter on a track the GUI appears and my keyboard seems to make corresponding keys on the GUI play, but when I attempt to choose an instrument from ST2`s directory my machine goes in to deep freeze, I get an hour glass as a last indication that the freeze has come and its time for a cold boot of the system, no Ctrl Alt Delete to end task works. As a newb to computer recording and Tracktion I often assume when things go wrong that it is operator error and hunt for a problem here or on my own until its cured, this time I suspect the SP2 app. I have tried an uninstall and reinstall but no go, still hosed. I followed the install instructions to the letter. Anyone out there finding this app. to be a problem? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
SYS-WIN XP, AMD3200+, Onyx w/fire wire.
This ones got Mackie stumped as well.
Thanks, Jon.

I've always had problems with Sample Tank (free version) and Tracktion (app freezing though normally c-a-d'able) so I was a little surprised when i saw it was one of the bundled plugs. Can't really help as I never got to the bottom of it (different OSs, PCs...)

Yes, real time priority is on although I`d be hard pressed to say I understand exactly what that means at this time. I don`t have use ASIO direct mode on. Thanks for the quick response.

yes, you must switch off RTPM for ST products to work well in Tracktion.

Real time priority switched off was the trick, thanks M`Snah, you rock.
Do you know what real time priority does?

I'm glad it worked
It has something to do with priorities in a real time setting
. No I'm not sure, but I expect it results in having a deadlock/livelock situation between ST2 and T2, both waiting for each other but not getting the CPU to do something...

From the tracktion 2 reference manual
Use real-time priority mode: This option can help with compatibility for some ASIO sound cards. Note, this option should only be enabled when absolutely necessary, as it can conflict with some VST plug-ins, causing Tracktion to freeze.
