I was trying the export file command out, from T2... 2 bar audio loop... when saved as .aif all I get is white noise! Scared the crap out of me when I previewed it
.wav works fine?? Anyone, OSX version, of course!!

I haven't really been following this cos OSX stuff is of little interest to me, but I recall there being issues with AIFF files. It seems some apps can import Tracktion generated AIFFs and others can't.
Try opening it in a few different programs.

I mean the file that has been exported, when played back in the finder, is just noise! Nothing there??

Did I not just answer that?

If he wants to use any loops created in Tracktion as Apple Loops, they should be AIFF.

My first guess is that this is a byte order issue. AIFFs should be stored in big-endian format, while WAVs should be little-endian. Perhaps T/JUCE is getting a litte confused about this.
DHR53: Could you post a short AIFF (1 or 2 seconds would be enough) with this problem?

I just tried this in 10.4.1 and it works for me. I rendered a midi clip to aiff, a audio clip to aiff, and midi and audio to aiff. This is a 16/44.1, the best my lappy can do.

No you didn't... Telling me some apps can import T aifs, has nothing to do with playing/previewing the file does it? The file is noise, whether imported, played from the finder or anyplace else... Your "mac attitude"... is getting a little tired. How about you just work with the PC people and let us "muddle along" by ourselves, eh?valley wrote:Did I not just answer that?

Yes... it was 24 bit file, 16 works fine!

Unfortunately the Mac version of T2 has forced me back to Logic Express 7.1 on my Powerbook for real 'work' (7.1 is a super-nice update BTW. Another $20 well spent!). The PC version seems solid as a rock for me, but I'm a bit sad that the Mac version has so many issues in 10.4.1 (which may be the OS' fault mainly, since Live 4.1.2 has also been doing some weird stuff). Since I prefer working on my Mac vs my PC, this means I'm using T2 less than I'd like.

That's good to know. Luckily I only use 16 bit.platinumears wrote:IIRC it was just 24-bit aiffs that had problems..

For anyone who can think without aid, it does, yes. Let's try again, and see if you can keep up this time, eh.DHR53 wrote:No you didn't... Telling me some apps can import T aifs, has nothing to do with playing/previewing the file does it?valley wrote:Did I not just answer that?
There have been ongoing reports of problems with Tracktion's AIFF files. In some Mac apps they are readable, in others they aren't. Evidently you are trying to open them in one of the applications where they aren't readable. Another application may well be able to open them. If so, as a work-around until a fix is in, you could use that app to simply re-export the AIFF - thus hopefully gaining a proper standard AIFF file in the process.
Why the AIFFs are broken in some apps I have no idea, but if I had to put money on it I'd say incorrect byte ordering. That doesn't help you though. Knowing that some apps apparently *can* open them should help you execpt for:
You are too stupid to realise it, because you aree too busy playing the victim. You make the "you're Mac biased" claim on average three times a year. On average three times a year I request you back up your whinings with any single piece of evidence to prove I have a Mac bias. On average three times a year you cravenly drop out of the thread, or just ignore the challenge. Are you going to do any better this time?Your "mac attitude"... is getting a little tired.
No. How about I continue trying to help out Tracktion users in general and go back to simply ignoring *you*.How about you just work with the PC people and let us "muddle along" by ourselves, eh?
