What makes Tracktion for me, in spite of the problems ...

This is not meant to be an objective comment, so much as a comment on the feature that totally sells me on Tracktion right now.
I just love the rack filter. It's brilliant. The basic modular routing concept isn't new , but I just don't see it being integrated so well into linear track sequencing anywhere else. I used to be a Mac Logic guy, and I still miss many of the detailed midi features especially. But it doesn't have anything like this. I suppose that EnergyXT is the closest in some ways, but I just couldn't make a connection to that software. Bidule is great, but there just isn't any real sequencing in there. You can use ERA for step sequencing, but there are issues with EnergyXT, as far as I'm concerned.
The closest I've found to combining the 2 concepts - the linear and the modular sequencing/plug in routing is probably Aodix, a very fine program in its own right. But right now, I'm just really enjoying messing around with Tracktion. This aspect of the program was really well thought out, I think.
Hell, I'm drunk. don't pay attention to me.

I am totally happy with Tracktion 1.6 and racks are very cool. The only thing that I was missing was audio loop recording but there's in T2 now so maybe I 'll buy the boxed version.

Yeah, dropped a rack on an audio clip last night by accident. Smashed it up real good. All the audio leaked off the track, dripped onto the taskbar, off the screen, down the desk and onto the carpet in a little puddle of mashed up ones and zeroes. Yet another reason why I let the roadies move my racks.

No need to be modest round here `ears. At least you could make it something like "plat". This `ears reminds me a guy named "jaws" in some James Bond movie
