and select replace this filter. It does not replace, but just adds your new selection on the same track outside of the rack.

Hey, which T2 build are you using?
I thought I tested it on the latest build, but platinumears suggests that I may not have. I'm not on front of Tracktion now to verify that.

I am looking at 2.0.1.4 March 29, 2005 and I don't have the ability to replace a filter in a rack... The option to replace is not a greyed out option, it simply doesn't appear on the pop-up.

That chimes with what 'ears suggests.
pw, it sounds like you[1] don't have the latest build installed.
[1] and apparently my wife's PC which I was using this morning

Not correct. I have 2.0.1.4, March 29 2005.
Now, I have done some further testing.
Right click produces different drop down menu's within a rack, depending on if you:
(1) load a blank rack and start to build (no option to replace filter with another type, (as 'ears and darcyb62 suggest) or if
(2) you right click on a normal filter outside of a rack, and choose the 'wrap this filter in new rack filter option'. In the this second case, you have the option that I mentioned in the first post, that doesn't work properly.
So, there is clearly a bug here.
In fact, I discovered this because I was going to post a feature request to replace filters within a rack without re-looming, because I was sure it wasn't possible. I went to check, and discovered what is documented here in my first post.

Interesting! Sounds like the bug wasn't squashed as thoroughly as I thought.. I'll check that when I get home.
I'm guessing the replace filters option was removed because there is no way to predict how many ins & outs the replacement would have, and what to do if they didn't match up to the current filter.
.. although it would be nice if it brought up a list which had been filtered to only show plugs with matching IO configurations..

Okay. Thanks for looking at this guys.
??? I hope this is not the logic...surely 90% of plug-ins (at least) are simply stereo in/out, and the remainder could just sequentially connect starting from the first output, or some other arbitrary rule. Doesn't sound to me to be a reason to drop it as a feature though.'ears wrote: I'm guessing the replace filters option was removed because there is no way to predict how many ins & outs the replacement would have, and what to do if they didn't match up to the current filter.![]()

yeah, that is step sequence I followed, so I guess that's why I saw the bug...
sorry, for further confusing an already confusing situation.
