Broken Render

I finally received T2. Now I wish to export my recording so that I may release it to the public. Unfortunately, the rendered wav has a gate effect and it ruins the long decay of the reverbs.

TapeIt free version doesn't seem to help me much since it is only exporting as 32/96 even when I select 44/16. Plus if I used TapeIt the length will be different than the render. This makes it difficult for me to swap the file with a new version in the future since the lengths won't match perfectly.

I'm not sure what to do. Is there any chance a bug fix will be released today or are they too busy with comedic videos and physical distributor relations to worry about the actual product?

This might as well be called a demo version since the render function has been crippled.

(15:22:26) me: Stupid Tracktion has a render bug
(15:22:39) me: It creates a slight gate type effect on all the tracks when you save to wav
(15:22:45) me: So it ruins my reverb
(15:35:30) him: hm
(15:35:32) him: I doubt that
(15:35:36) him: maybe something else?
(15:35:39) him: maybe your player?
(15:35:59) me: No it's known bug
(15:36:17) him: hm lol what kind of software is that

odds are you won't see a bug fix today (but I'm sure you already concluded that on your own). Also, you seem to be well aware of the bug which is impacting you, which has been reported, and to which they are well aware of it's importance to everyone. So basically, this was just taking time out to make a jab... touche! and uterly unconstructive. :?

Yes that is exactly what is going on. I wish to be constructive, I also wish to render my project. The solution is for Tracktion's source code to be released so that I may fix the problem and satisfy both wishes. Oh, that's not going to happen? So I am at the will of Mackie's decisions? Okay then obviously I am trapped in a corner and can do absolutely nothing except howl at the moon.

I may not be able to directly modify the source, but I can certainly warn all of my colleagues not to buy Tracktion until the most basic of functions works correctly. One would imagine that this would help motivate the people who do have the ability to be constructive, since their image is being damaged as we speak.

Might I also add that you pointing out the obvious, and this response is more utterly unconstructive nonsense. So you are joining me in the howling. Now it is your turn to say another unconstructive thing, which I am supposed to reply with something even more off topic until the thread is 8 pages long and is discussing the cost of T2 in Japan.

Or maybe we will get some of these replies where people do nothing but display smiley faces.

Seriously... my hope for this forum is that it can get a bit back on track to how it used to be. I'm not trying to attack you here. I understand your concerns... especially considering that this impacts all of us, not just you. I don't want to drag this into another debate because I'm honestly tired of them wholeheartedly. Yes, you can warn the world about the horrors of tracktion... and yes you can make tons of threats.. but this just isn't a constructive way to "motivate" people. Trust me in knowing they are very aware of the issue.. I too wish things were rolling smoother, and there were a lot fewer bugs, but what can we do other than report them and move on.

...and you might be right in that this thread might generate a ton of crap.. but the point is just that... it just wasn't necessary from the start. No matter, I won't post anything else regarding this... hope you understand where I'm coming from.

They seem quite laid back at RMS HQ these days, but no doubt they are on the case.

I'm also waiting for this particular fix before making a T2 purchase. Does anyone know how updates/fixes are posted? i.e...when it IS fixed, how will we be notified?
