http://www.dspdimension.com./
there is a thread about it here:

that was my thought!I don't think there's any reason it couldn't be integrated into the app itself.

it's actually a complete bugger to implement as a plugin as it appears to need variable length chunks, and the vst spec does not support that at all.
You could only implement this as a host level thing.

ok, host level it is.. chop chop! (
)
sounds interesting.. this part makes it sound like it would suit tracktion well:

Due to its new time-frequency approach that unites the best of both worlds and adds the advantages of wavelet-based processing, only DIRAC can be scaled to work with all signals with equal ease and success and without destroying the timing or quality of your music. What's more - it doesn't hide its inadequacies behind a massive set of parameters that leave the user wondering why tweaking them makes the result sound always worse. DIRAC is very easy to set up and guarantees a smooth and professional result every time.

Why would they have this on their site if you cant use it in a commercial app
. I dont understand this whole GNU thing.
"Creating and maintaining SoundTouch library has required - and still does - a considerable amount of work and effort.
If you like SoundTouch library or are you using it for a commercial application, then you may wish to support SoundTouch development by making a voluntary donation. This will also enable future enhancement to the library."

The pitch portion of these libraries are fairly easy to implement.
But with timestretching you need a whole new gui, and load all the samples you want to stretch in them.
I've been doing some thinking about this, how to solve it withing tracktion and a plug, so that it looks and works with the tracktion design/workflow paradigm.
A better pitch could certainly be doable, I'll might just whip something together tonight when the kids (and gf) are asleep. Cant vouch for how good it will be though. But I could give it a try. the current pitch shifter does not do it for me!

I'll see if any of the Bugs want to try to come up with something, also, if you don't mind.
Duncan was working on a pitch-shifter ages ago, but abandoned it due to unsuccessful results. There's already a GUI and everything.
Actually-- stupid me-- if you feel like it (completely optional and an invitation only)-- you can probably even join us over there, yoink the existing GUI, and release it through BBA. Totally totally optional, though, I'm not meaning to sound like a "recruiting guy" or whatever-- our intention with BBA was always to allow new coders to come aboard, sort of like a SmartElectronix thing, but with one "brand name". Up to you, but the offer is there to at least come over and chat it up.

well, English isn't my native language but when I waded through the license (before I suggested Soundtouch for Tracktion a few months agoLunch Money wrote:According to my understanding of the GNU, you can't use it in commercial applications. I don't want to divert the thread toward another GNU conversation (too much of a thread hijack), but that's been my impression. Unless they license it separately for commercial use.
