I use Line6 Guitarport to get guitar in to my PC, so have to select 'ASIO Guitarport' as my audio device to get these inputs active in Tracktion.

When I do this I thenonly have Guitarport available as my o/p option. Is there any way to be able to use the Guitarport ASIO driver for input, but output using the ASIO4all / KX ASIO element ?

I'm guessing not but htought I'd ask . . .

no.

ASIO does not allow for more than one active ASIO device.

Some cards can be 'chained' into one master ASIO device, but this is a driver level thing, and typically is only possible with cards from the same vendor.

Is there anyway to sidestep the guitarport?

Yes I could run it in to a cheap mixer and just have that feed in via KX drivers to the sound card which I may do when I am less skint.

Asio4All v2 can merge your cards into one big virtual Asio card. You need to switch to Einstein-mode for this feature. Then the Asio output can go to another card than where the input came from.
My MusicCalc is temporary offline.
We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. :borg:

I kind of gave up on ASIO4All... it might have worked but I didn't have time to fiddle with it.

I found that it made a difference what I had selected as my *Windows* audio device - I forget which way around it works, but certain combinations of windows device and Tracktion device meant that Guitarport would not function through T2. iirc I have to have my obaord sound chip selected as Windows audio device - I fire up a shortcut to audio device properties box before I invoke T

What is more, ASIO4ALL needs good WDM drivers.
But ASIO can be used with more than one driver at the same time, it's not because the SDK doesn't provide the files to do that that it can't be, there are only synchonization problems...
