I know about the timestretch issue. But say you are auditioning beats over accappellas. What is the best way to find the tempo of that accapella to match to it?
Also, if you do need to timestretch, what programs do you use to do it in? I have soundforge 7, but am not sure if I see a timestretch or not..I would imagine they have it though, maybe im missing it.
Who Remixes in Tracktion 2?

not sure (without a tool like acid or live) that id like to try tempo-matching beats to the vocals ... much more preferable to build your groove and stretch / squeeze the vocals to fit that IMHO ...

yeah, I used aCID a while back, but I don't want to go back to it. What I noticed was that the tracks were a bit off and I had to do a lot of cut and pasting to get it to work..it was kind of a pain. I think In tracktion, the vocal compensates for the tempo right? It may sound like shit, but if you're close it should be fine..is that correct?

hmmmnnn ... any tempo compensation in tracktion will need to be done manually (by alt-click-dragging the little triangle in the upper corner of your selected audio clip) ...
... and its a given that in MOST situations tracktions current timestretch will sound pretty pants for all but the most minor tempo adjustments (unless you dont mind the pitch of the vocals changing - but i guess that would defeat the point of remixing to some extent) ...
