Hi all,
Just got my copy of T2 and i am a little lost on getting up and running with it. Could someone give me a walk through on recording audio. I am using motu 828mkII with it. I started on page 31 for recording audio but still am not getting it
Thanks all for your :help:

Post

1 - make sure your audio device is active on the settings tab ('audio devices' page) ... where im using the echo indigo just substitute your motu (obviously make sure whatever you want to record is plugged in to the soundcard and ready to go) ...

Image

2 - switch to the EDIT tab and (for the sake of this tutorial) uncheck the 'use a 'per-track' view for input devices' ...

Image

3 - drag your little motu arrow until it 'sticks' to the track you want to record into ...

Image

4 - in the properties panel make sure 'enable end-to-end' is switched on (if you actually want to hear what youre playing in) ... also check that 'end-to'end' is enabled in the transport / master area (TBH not sure whether this actually needs to be on but its always enabled in my set-up so it cant hurt)

Image

5 - hit the record button in the transport / master section (it will transform into a stop button once recording is under way) ...

Image

6 - play in your audio from whatever source youre using ... the recording will appear on the timeline of the 'armed' track ...

Image

7 - press stop when done ... the recorded audio should then appear as a graphical waveform on your track ready for editing / processing ...

... hope that helps mate

Seriously, pHz has done this several times now and I applaud him for taking the time to do these. Now if they'd just hire him and put him to work!

theyre wrought iron ... i bend and stretch them to shape by hand using my little portable forge and anvil ... stick them on the laptop screen while theyre still red hot and take a photo which i then develop and print in my loft darkroom before scanning and cropping to size pixel by pixel in MS paint ...

... only for the love of spreading the word of T do i undertake such herculean tasks ...

Its not needed for recording but (assuming the end-to-end for that input is also turned on) it will allow the signal to be monitored through any filters without having to press play or record first.
