Tracktion does not like EastWest Synphonic Orchestra...

Hello,

I cannot render properly any track that use EastWest symphonic orchestra... (gold edition but i assume it's the same with other version).

Mising notes, other notes are cut violently.
Yes i've tried "render at 1x play speed".

With my old sound card i was able to record after the sound card mixing engine, so i used this feature in tracktion. I recorded a new new track while playing the one i wanted to render.
I cannot do that anymore with my new card...

Does anyone know a soft that would allow to do that ?
I would like to have a kind of virtual ASIO driver. I would select it as output and it would copy the output to the input that i would plug in an other track and record.
I know that exists with midi. But with audio... ???

(A better thing would be to Tracktion to be able to render correctly this plug...)

Thanks by advance,

Xavier

P.S.: i use Tracktion 2.1.4

I have EWQLSO Silver here and it works perfectly.

The silver one has the same problem for me. But it does notes and sustains and other things. It may be a T render issue. I don't remember it doing that in T1. But you're not the only one. But it kind of makes me feel good to know that it's Tracktion and not my setup.

I also have lots of stuck notes (notes that never stops when you stop in the middle of playing notes). It's not a "litttle" lot.. It's a "BIG" lot... not to say each time i stop during the player has some active notes.

So no need to say working with Tracktion and EWSO is not very pleasant.

I think that would be cool to have that fixed....
Beno, Jules ?

AD80, which version of the kompakt player do you have ?

It says Software: 1.0.3.0010, DFD V1.2.9, Library 1.0.

I dont use DFD at all cuz I got 1.5 gigs of ram. And I never updated the software, I just installed it out of the box and it worked perfectly so I didnt mess with it. Hope they get it fixed soon, whatever the problem is. Its definitely working great over here.

Oh speaking about updates, I cant seem to be able to run more than one of your wonderful delays at the same time in Tracktion. When I open another delay I get a lot of wierd noise. Has there been an update?

Thanks for the info AD80.
I'll try to disable the DFD thing.

Thanks for the nice words about my delays ! :D
I wasn't aware of this multi instance problem. Thanks for reporting it.
I'll check that too. But that may take a while, i switched from 2000 to XP a month ago and i still don't have reinstalled my C++ environment.

I have the same problem - and it's a Tracktion thing, nothing to do with EWSO, because I don't have that!

Tracktion is supposed to send an all notes off message when it stops, but this obviously doesn't happen. Sometimes the only cure is to start from the top of the track. A 'panic' button would be a useful addition.

I'm not sure it's so simple. Because if it was really 100% tracktion fault that would not work with any VST.
I would say Tracktion does not send the note off exactly when the kompakt player expect it. Or the player expect something else that no other VST expect and that Tracktion does not send (and tha cubase or sonar do)... Or it is the order the messages are send.
The VST specification is not clear at all about all those thing.

It's very easy to make a plugin that work with a sequencer and not an other. It took me some time to make my little plugins compatible with most of them.

It's the same for the rendering problem.
It's not the fault of only one. It's an incompatibility between the two.

Now the goal is to know if it's the work of Mackie/Jules to make their sequencer work with EWSO or if it is to EastWest/Native instrument to make their plugin work with Tracktion ?

I would say that NI doesn't care at all about Tracktion users....

Does Mackie care about Tracktion users ?
At least the solution of a Panic boutton would be very usefull to solve the stuck notes problem.

This is a problem which occurs without any VST's or VSTi's in the loop. I can get hung notes on a harware module just as easily with Tracktion.

Agreed - hardly a major code revision and it would make life so much easier.
