Hi,
Is anyone using this combination?
I'm interested in using the step sequencer in FL Studio to drive another drum VST that i have - i just don't know how to do that or where to start. I can easily get sounds in FL Studio to play after you drop it as a vst, but i dont want audio out, i want the midi to pass through to the next vst like it does with stepchild.
Can this be done? If so, is there a link to an explanation somewhere - i'm not familiar with FL Studio at all but would get it for this alone if i can get it to work.
thanks
steve

I use FL Express 5 as a VST, REWIRE seems a bit problematic (see forums):
- You can sketch your piece with FL instruments. When you're happy, there is a macro function in the last menu of FL , "Prepare for MIDI export" or something, that turns every line in FL sequencer into the MIDI channel of the same number. You will lose your FL instruments. Instead, the beats go through the port you defined in FL preferences to that MIDI channel in Tracktion, so you put a VSTi after it and define the channel on which it will accept data, which represents the line of FL sequencer. (This can be changed, of course.)
- to use more VSTi's, put FL in a rack, and ad a rack to every Tracktion channel that you wan't to be sequenced with FL
