I did a google search and found that many people have experienced font inconsistencies in OS X / 10.3.x / Panther.
After a couple of reinstalls, I suspect the problem was in customizing using the Apple Install CD's options menu. For example, I selected X11 and deselected a number of other apps hoping to have a leaner installed OS.
I reinstalled yet again after wiping the drive and this time, left the installer options stock. After restoring all my apps and docs, it seems the problem is solved. All fonts in ALL apps are fine, including Tracktion.
Sorry to have raised the alarm thinking Tracktion was at fault. Hindsight is 20/20. At least, I can post here and warn others not to tamper with the options on Apple's install CD's. Better to let it fly and cusomize manually later.
Font problem fixed, not Tracktion

Hi there! I'm experiencing exactly the same font problem as you did. (Only difference is, I'm running OSX 10.4.1)james wrote:Sorry to have raised the alarm thinking Tracktion was at fault. I'm not sure I quite understand how you solved it; could you perhaps elaborate a little?
