Recording guitar with vst effects live?

:help:

So I'm writing some guitar based music, and my question is probably a stupid one... but I can't find anything in the manual/forums... Can anyone help?

My problem is when recording the guitars, is there any way to have the input signal modified live with a vst plug-in (eg JCM900) but recorded clean? We're recording stuff as a band in one take, but with the guitars it's always needs to be played in clean, so we can play about with sounds/effects afterwards. As you can imagine it takes a lot out of the feel, when recording clean...

So is there a way to record clean, but hear dirty? (Like effects added just to the output signal of the guitar channel)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I always stick loads of VSTs on the track while I'm recording, but the recording itself is dry, because the VSTs go after it in the chain. I don't think there's a way to record *with* effects...

So when you say you stick loads of VSTs on the track, can you actually hear them "effecting" whilst you're recording into tracktion? No matter what effects I put on the track, it always "sounds" live. I don't hear the effects til I stop, and hit playback. Like I said, it would be easier to record if I could hear the effects (simple overdrive/distortion, mostly) being applied as I play live... but NOT recorded into the wav files...
