I haven't purchased it yet, but I am going to get Tracktion 2 very soon and I do believe I am going to have to update my soundcard. I've got a Soundblaster Live 64 and, from what I understand, is not going to do the job. I understand it is more of a gaming card. I was wondering how the Echo MiaMidi card stacks up. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What does the '64' signify? If its a normal Live card you should be able to run it with the 'KX project' ASIO drivers which will give you quite a respectable latency, even if they can't improve the converters or make the card work at any samplerates other than 48KHZ..

Otherwise I would just say that my M Audio Delta 66 has been rock solid with Tracktion, as has every other M-Audiio card I have tried.. (the Audiophile 24/96 is pretty cheap these days!)

Apparently "64" is the model number of that particular card.

Are you sure it's not an Awe64? That would be bad news, indeed, and yes you'll need a card. Even with a Live 24-bit (the only other thing you may have meant, but it's a brand new card so if yours is older, it's an AWE) you'll probably want a new card.

I haven't tried the Mia, but the Audiophile, as already mentioned, is cheap and is a very strong and consistent performer. $99 at most retailers.
