Hi guys - I am trying to record w a soft synth plug (Crystal)trigered by a plug-in midi input device (Trollo). I don't get any recorded sound. Not sure if it can be done? Also settings? If the soft synth is the sound source do I just use the same audio in & out that I've been using? Thanks

you can't (natively) record the output of a plugin in real time. You need to render.
If you really want to record a live audio snatch, either use your soundcard's loopback features (not all cards can do this, it's about 50/50 between those that can and can't), or use a 3rd party plug such as tapeit.

Thanks - that makes sense. My s. card is Edirol UA 5. I can't get thru to their tech support. It has input monitor but I'm not sure that is the same thing?? Anyone know anything about these? Thanks. Otherwise the plug looks good. I just want to use ambient synth sounds for some atmosphere where timing isn't too critical.

the way i allways loop back is by connecting the output to a input (warning!!! input monitor will have to be off for this kind of set up, & so will end to end on the audio input in tracktion)
but if this is to tricky then tape it is a free plug that will let you record live
just put it in the master filter or the track you want to record
