Buggy VST's that crash Tracktion

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to eliminate which plug-ins give Tracktion issues. Sometimes when I switch to the projects or settings page, tracktion just vanishes completely, then on the next start-up it freezes up Windows completely, and I have to force a reboot.
I downloaded VST-Scanner, and it tells me that MANY of my plug-ins have errors, but I have found no documentation of what some of the messages mean. For example: "Host ask for too much PIN". Hmmm.
Maybe it would be interesting to make a comprehensive list of plug-ins that are known to cause issues with Tracktion. This constant reinstalling business is getting pretty old...

Have you enabled "real time priority" in the settings page?
if you did, disable it!
& let us know

I should have mentioned this, as I saw it noted before that this is a common cause of crashes. It is definitely not enabled. I also disabled Rewire.djsubject wrote:Have you enabled "real time priority" in the settings page?

I may be wrong, but I'm fairly sure that the problem stems from plug-ins, if only because I have so many of them. And also because other VST hosts (Wavelab, Audition) would not open until I changed the name of the plugins folder, and restricted them to load only the ones I use for wave editing and mastering...
I recently did a major cleanup and got rid of all the plug-ins that I don't expect to use in the near future. Whatever else I disable I'll definitely be missing, some more than others.

TRUE Message is :jplanet wrote:I downloaded VST-Scanner, and it tells me that MANY of my plug-ins have errors, but I have found no documentation of what some of the messages mean. For example: "Host ask for too much PIN". Hmmm.
"Filter Connection Failed : Host ask for too much input Pin"
VST-Scanner is not compatible with VST-Plug-in that have no input, and actually does not manage VSTi.
